Dear Factory Metal,
I just bought one of your 8" Cross Crasherz. I tried it out a couple times at a local music store and finally just got it. I really like the way it sounds. Here is my question:
This may be a simple question but I wanted to know how you play the Cross Crasherz in a beat? I'm trying to figure out if I'm suppose to hit it like a crash cymbal or play it like a ride?
Thanks,

Hi Justin,
Actually a great question! Because the Cross Crasherz is a metallic effect, it can be used in a lot of different ways. It can be struck similar to how a drummer might hit a splash cymbal. You can also ride on it, the way a percussionist might play a groove on a cowbell. The trick is to think of playing rhythmic patterns that separate sounds with different limbs. For example, put your right hand on the Crasherz and your left hand on the hi-hat and do a single or double paradiddle.
R L R R L R L R or R L R L R R L R L R L L
That sound separation really makes the Cross Crasherz stand out. Work linear patterns into a beat on your drum set. Here are a few playing videos I created, especially to answer your question. I hope they will be helpful for you.

Plus, you can also hit it as a single shot, for an accent in just about any style of music. Thanks for playing Factory Metal Percussion!
